A Special Topics workshop for K-12 teachers, American Views and Voices, was held this past February at UNC’s Centerra Center. Participants produced poems to capture their learning and impressions of the various cultures represented in Library of Congress primary sources. Read their poems at http://www.unctps.org/participant_work . (see Click here to read participant poems)
This workshop was part of UNC's Voices of the Americas community collaboration focus to highlight issues about and celebrations of the diversity of cultures, languages, traditions, and people who are part of the ever changing reality of the Americas. Through the various events, participants experienced the complexity of cultural traditions in the western hemisphere from a wide range of viewpoints.
